ABOUT
me
My name is Iria Carreira, a Senior Product Manager based in London, working for Autodesk. I have spent over 15 years working at the intersection of technology and the built environment, and I am passionate about innovation.
I invested a significant part of my life in education. I studied Smart Cities and Urban Analytics at UCL CASA. Prior to that, I completed a bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering at Copenhagen Technical School, and even before that, I undertook a "licenciatura" in Art History at the University of Santiago.
Before joining the tech industry, I worked as a BIM/Digital leader for Lendlease, where I implemented digital and collaborative processes in the delivery and operational phases of buildings and their surrounding spaces. I had the privilege of working with great clients like Google, UBS Bank, AON Insurance, Transport for London, FCA, and others. I also guest lectured at the Polytechnic University of Catalunya on BIM and mentored new students at the Copenhagen School of Design and Technology.
Outside my 8-5 job, I enjoy playing with the latest technologies, considering myself an early adopter. I experience both frustration and fascination while learning different programming languages, particularly Python and anything related to data analytics. However, I would never label myself a programmer, rather, I am a perpetual beginner and student. I am a reader, particularly in the fields of technology, innovation, and the built environment, driven always by curiosity.
You might assume I work all the time, but I also enjoy cycling and running around London, training in CrossFit and weightlifting, surfing in Galicia, playing on my PS4/5, reading novels, and indulging in my love for food and wine as a proud Spaniard. I frequently escape from London to outdoors landscapes and explore other cities, and I take my coffee very seriously.
That's about it for now. I wish I could write here more often, but consistency is a challenge given all of the activities mentioned above. However, if you want to chat about Contech/proptech/aecotech, need advice on coffee, or simply wish to get in touch, you can find my contact details in the 'social' section.
Gracias and welcome to my website.
